Arsenal vs Manchester United Premier League Betting Preview

Posted by Dakota Macqueen in Betting Advisor

Arsenal can be taken to win at best odds of 17/10 (bet $10 to win $17 profit) with Betfair, while Manchester United are slightly less fancied at 19/10 for the win with the same firm. We think the bookmakers are being slightly generous to Arsenal in their pricing as the Gunners’ form has collapsed of late and they’ve only won one out of their last six in the league. They now stand an uncatchable nine points behind United in the title race and are due to finish another season trophyless. Last weekend saw them lose 2-1 at Bolton (who had just come off a 5-0 defeat in their FA Cup semi-final with Stoke) and even with home advantage and pride at stake we think they’re poor value for the win at current odds. For United it’s a case of what team will they put out against Wenger’s men. Although the Red Devils look to be sitting pretty for a place in the Champions League final, manager Alex Ferguson is wise enough to know the tie isn’t dead yet and may rest a few key players at the Emirates. If so, 19/10 doesn’t look overly attractive a price and is probably one to avoid. Plus of course United’s domestic away form has been poor this season, unlike in Europe.
